OVERVIEW

USCRI Cleveland has been awarded a grant from the Office of Refugee Resettlement to form new- and enhance existing relationships with partnering employers. This partnership will include technical assistance to employers whom provide eligible clients advanced employment and career opportunities, as employer-supported training (on-site or off-site), personalized coaching and language supports for enrolled clients.

Within the Employment Team, the primary focus of the Employer Engagement case manager is to partner with participating employers and their enrolled refugee employees to ensure employees are developing the skills necessary for job security and advancement. This includes partnering to identify employee strengths and skill gaps, to identify specific training or classes needed to close those gaps, and to create an agreed-upon pathway for employee stability and advancement. This position works under the Program Coordinator and reports to the Field Office Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate intake services and enroll eligible employees. Enrollment includes conducting individualized employment goal planning, conducted in conjunction with appropriate staff from employer partners.
  • Develop wholistic goals with benchmarks. Conduct a personalized evaluation at a minimum of every 6 months.
  • Collaborate closely with other Employment and Employer Engagement staff to design and implement culturally and linguistically appropriate training and skills development activities.
  • Support employee clients with connections and referrals to professional networks and community support systems that improve employability and family stability.
  • Maintain case files.
  • Submit written reports as required; and
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience with case management, human resources, job development, job counseling / training, and / or social services provisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and build lasting relationships and partnerships with clients, employers, partners, and field office staff.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, and database programs.
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license, automobile insurance, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
  • Must pass a criminal background and other screening requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally as required.
  • Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
  • Fluency in one of the key languages used by the population is preferred (includes but is not limited to : Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Pashto, Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish), proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

  • TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Satisfactory Completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training;
  • Satisfactory completion of annual mandatory training; and
  • Complete additional training as identified by supervisor(s), program director or Human Resources.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying;
  • Quantitative / mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements); and
