Job description

Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for file storage, databases, applications, tools networks, etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with designing, developing, and debugging File system service. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. You will have the opportunity to work along with multiple senior developers and be part of a dynamic team. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development

Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) teams are developing Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that can operate at a large scale in a multi-tenant cloud environment. We aim to provide customers with the best computing, storage, networking, database, security, and other cloud-based services.

As part of the OCI - File Storage Service team, we are seeking talented engineers who want to solve complex problems in the area of highly available distributed file storage services. If you have a passion for designing and building innovative systems from scratch and operating services at scale, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. The service is growing rapidly and delivering enterprise-class features to meet our customers' most demanding file system workloads. Engineers in this role will have a significant impact on the technical and business aspects of the project.

As a technical contributor, you will be responsible for designing and developing major components and features of the File Storage Service. You should be an excellent coder with a good understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. You should also be able to work on any part of the stack and design broad distributed system interactions. In addition, you should be passionate about learning, digging deeper into technical issues, and be comfortable working in a collaborative, agile environment.

Basic Qualifications :

  • 2+ years experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of Java, Go, and Python.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of databases, storage, and distributed persistence technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • Knowledge and experience using Linux / Unix operating systems is a plus
  • Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.
  • Must have self-motivation to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US : Hiring Range : from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off : Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position.
