Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Leader for our Data Engineering team. You will be responsible for leading our data engineering efforts, overseeing the design, development, and implementation of scalable data pipelines and data solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping our data architecture and ensuring that our data infrastructure meets the needs of our growing organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead a team of data engineers; provide proactive guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Design and architect scalable data pipelines and ETL processes with tools like Snowflake, Fivetran, DAGs (Directed Acyclic Graphs), Airflow, and Astronomer.
  • Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes and infrastructure, identifying opportunities to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Partners with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into an analytics roadmap with product management.
  • Create a data platform which “makes sense” to our user community as they run and grow our business. This will require you to learn our business and understand our partners.
  • Integrate Data Literacy into data deliverables in partnership with analytics director.
  • Understand short / long term data needs and deliver within a long-term vision.
  • Oversee design, deployment, and management of data platforms.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our capabilities and drive business value.
  • Partner with Advanced Analytics and Reporting teams to ensure data is available for analytics work in a planned manner.Product Management to create a backlog for the team.Release Management to ensure releases are coordinated and planned.Quality Assurance to ensure releases are reliable and supportable.Customer / Partner groups to understand data needs.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with business leaders, providing regular updates on data initiatives and their impact on business goals.
  • Manage budget, resources, and tools necessary for data engineering projects.

What We Need

  • 8+ years of data engineering experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a management / leadership role
  • Proven knowledge of data modeling and loading techniques.
  • Strong experience in data engineering tools (e.g., Fivetran, snowpipe, etc.).
  • Experience in cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in data / analytics related area
  • Ability to translate complex technical details into data deliverables.
  • Demonstrated effective and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify continuous improvement for data products.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective driver of team towards a common goal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with sales and customer service teams in healthcare is a plus but not required.
