JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance / EHS Supervisor is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the building, fixtures, machines, and site equipment. This role includes supervising general building maintenance, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards. The Maintenance Supervisor manages maintenance staff, coordinates with contractors, and leads initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and cleanliness across the facility.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Building and Equipment Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance for the building and equipment.
- Supervise and coordinate special projects related to facility upgrades and repairs.
- Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, coordinate with contractors for major repairs.
Inspection and Documentation
Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance needs.Document findings and prioritize maintenance tasks accordingly.Ensure compliance with preventive maintenance requirements, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and safety surveys.EHS Compliance
Conduct and document quarterly, and annual, inspections of the fire sprinkler system and coordinate with licensed contractors for required compliance.Ensure adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.Identify and report unsafe conditions and behaviors to Senior Management.Supervise forklift inspection reports, ensuring safety items are repaired per requirements.Maintain compliance with SCAQMD regulations, including quarterly inspections of paint booth manometers.Coordinate and keep in compliance wastewater management.Regulatory Compliance
Coordinate annual inspections and load testing of overhead and jib cranes as required.Maintain inferred testing of electrical systems (110, 220, and 480 VAC) per insurer requirements.Ensure all safety systems, including office smoke detectors, meet UFC standards.Leadership and Supervision
Plan and manage the maintenance schedule based on manufacturing and facility needs.Supervise maintenance personnel, delegate daily work assignments, and assist with task completion.Conduct performance reviews, both formal and informal.Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities and implement solutions for safety and plant maintenance improvements.Lead continuous improvement efforts aligned with ISO Standards.Track key maintenance metrics such as work order completion, PM effectiveness, and emergency work order turnaround times.Inventory and Procurement
Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts to ensure optimal equipment effectiveness.Procure parts, machinery, and services by obtaining RFQs from vendors.Ensure contractors have valid certificates of liability insurance before services commence.Other Responsibilities
As assigned by Senior Management.Complete work order requests in a timely and cost-effective manner.JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5 years of on-the-job training and / or completion of trade school.Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.Ability to troubleshoot machine shop equipment, welding equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and forklifts.Proficiency in reading and interpreting manuals and blueprints.Physical ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs and up to a maximum of 50 lbs.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent walking, standing, and patrolling of the production floor; minimal computer and telephone use.Regular bending, stooping, and lifting tasks (up to 50 lbs).Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment with exposure to forklifts, material handling equipment, and variable temperatures depending on external weather conditions.Occasional work in a business office environment.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Full-Time
