COSTICH, DPC is a trusted engineering firm based in Rochester, NY, providing innovative solutions across a range of civil and landscape architecture projects. With a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a skilled Wetland Delineation Professional to join our growing team.

Position Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Wetland Delineation Professional to perform field investigations, regulatory permitting, and environmental assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wetland identification, classification, and permitting processes in compliance with state and federal regulations, including the updated NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland requirements under Part 664.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct wetland delineations in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and applicable regional supplements.
  • Prepare detailed wetland delineation reports, including maps, photographs, and vegetation analysis.
  • Assess and document wetland boundaries and classifications in compliance with the new NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland requirements (Part 664).
  • Perform environmental assessments and regulatory compliance reviews for site development projects.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies for jurisdictional determinations and permitting.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to integrate wetland delineation findings into site design and permitting strategies.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local wetland regulations and policies, including recent changes to New York State wetland regulations.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in wetland delineation and environmental consulting.
  • Familiarity with NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland regulations under Part 664.
  • Certification in wetland delineation (e.g., Professional Wetland Scientist [PWS]) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal wetland regulations, including Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping and GPS technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
