Position Summary :
We are looking for an experienced Wetland Delineation Professional to perform field investigations, regulatory permitting, and environmental assessments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wetland identification, classification, and permitting processes in compliance with state and federal regulations, including the updated NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland requirements under Part 664.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct wetland delineations in accordance with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and applicable regional supplements.
- Prepare detailed wetland delineation reports, including maps, photographs, and vegetation analysis.
- Assess and document wetland boundaries and classifications in compliance with the new NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland requirements (Part 664).
- Perform environmental assessments and regulatory compliance reviews for site development projects.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies for jurisdictional determinations and permitting.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members to integrate wetland delineation findings into site design and permitting strategies.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local wetland regulations and policies, including recent changes to New York State wetland regulations.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field.3+ years of professional experience in wetland delineation and environmental consulting.Familiarity with NYSDEC Freshwater Wetland regulations under Part 664.Certification in wetland delineation (e.g., Professional Wetland Scientist [PWS]) is a plus.Strong understanding of state and federal wetland regulations, including Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.Proficiency in GIS mapping and GPS technology.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team setting.What We Offer :
