Job description

Job Title : Database Administrator (Oracle / SQL Server)

Location : Irvine, CA

Overview :

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator with 4-10 years of experience in Oracle database administration. The candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing database environments. Familiarity with SQL Server and PostgreSQL is a plus.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Oracle databases across production, development, and testing environments.
  • Monitor database health proactively to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance.
  • Perform database tuning, query optimization, and troubleshoot performance issues to enhance efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues, including slow queries, indexing, and inefficient data access.
  • Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for Oracle databases.
  • Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and data architects to improve database performance and design.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Provide on-call support for critical database issues and incidents.
  • Document database configurations, tuning efforts, and troubleshooting procedures for future use.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions across platforms.
  • Qualifications :

  • 4-10 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration.
  • Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in backup and recovery strategies, including RMAN.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and PostgreSQL is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant Oracle certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional - OCP) are a plus.
