The College of Engineering at the University of Georgia is one of the fastest growing programs at UGA and one of the fastest growing public Colleges of engineering in the nation. Since our founding in 2012, enrollment in the College of Engineering has grown to over 3,000 engineering students. Position Summary :
The Engineering Education Transformations Institute (EETI) in the College of Engineering at University of Georgia invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank to start August 1, 2025.
We are seeking an innovative scholar in engineering education who will help expand EETI and contribute to our mission of creating community and capacity around engineering education scholarship and practice at UGA and beyond. Collaboration is at the heart of our approach, and the successful candidates will join us in working closely with scholars, instructional faculty, and staff in the college, the university, and the broader global engineering education research community.The successful candidate will become a core faculty member within EETI, holding the title of Assistant Professor of Engineering Education. In addition, they will be an active member of one of the four Schools in the College of Engineering : the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biomedical Engineering ; School of Electrical and Computer Engineering ; School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering ; and School of Computing . The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in one of the four Schools as well as graduate courses in the Engineering Education and Transformative Practice program housed in EETI.
Faculty hired as part of this initiative will join a rapidly-growing College of Engineering that combines interdisciplinary research and scholarship with excellent instruction and service. The UGA College of Engineering currently enrolls over 3,000 engineering majors and currently has 104 full-time engineering faculty across 15 degrees. The college also jointly administers the School of Computing in collaboration with the UGA Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, an academic unit that comprises over 1,800 computer science majors and 45 full-time faculty.
Significant investments in infrastructure have resulted in an expansion of laboratory facilities for research and scholarship and new classrooms and instructional labs. College of Engineering faculty have space in two major capital projects on campus to create interdisciplinary research facilities. Our main instructional facility, Driftmier Engineering Center , has also undergone a complete renovation to create flexible classrooms that enable a range of teaching modalities and the incorporation of interdisciplinary instructional labs. The common instructional facilities also foster collaboration by allowing faculty, staff, and students to interact and collaborate in a single facility.
