Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership
- Participate in Stumptown's executive leadership team, partnering with the President and other key executives in developing the long-term strategy for the organization.
- Develop, execute and communicate the vision and strategy for the Stumptown's Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations functions.
- Oversee and continually improve capacity planning, production, quality, and distribution operations to optimize business opportunities in all channels.
- Partners cross functionally to implement and lead functional business processes to deliver against all organizational objectives, including those in line with our B Corp commitments, including achieving targets pertaining to environmental sustainability.
- Lead team with grace and empathy through growth and change, focusing on clear communication, priority-setting and building skill to support the team's individual and collective success.
- Oversee and support staffing, hiring, career development and compensation strategies for the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Operations functions in partnership with the People / HR team.
Manufacturing and Operations
Work in partnership with department leaders to oversee all roasting and manufacturing operations, from day-to-day production management to long-term capacity projects.Skillfully negotiate business relationships with long-term partnerships and internal stakeholders, within Stumptown and within ownership groups (parent and sibling organizations), to advance key initiatives, improve efficiency and always ensure the highest quality of product.Develop strategies to consistently achieve or exceed targeted gross margin goals.Be a committed champion for safety across the entire business. Ensure all quality, human safety, and food safety goals are met and exceeded through safety culture and safety systems.Work with manufacturing and supply chain and other Stumptown teams to deliver new / updated product projects on time and to meet all product quality and food safety parameters.Supply Chain
Negotiate and maintain partnerships with key suppliers and co-manufacturers to ensure best cost, quality and delivery of Stumptown packaging and Stumptown co-manufactured finished goods.Work with finance, sales and marketing and Peets to maintain and adjust processes that ensure accurate and timely forecasts are uploaded to MRP and populating D365 appropriately to drive accurate and timely ordering and production of materials and finished goods.Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure industry standard inventory accuracy metrics are met across all facilities and inventory discrepancies are corrected with timely and effective communication.Work with manufacturing, distribution and logistics teams to ensure on time in full delivery metrics are met as well as customer expectations for the condition of product going into customer locations.Collaborate with parent and peer organizations on long term capacity, capital investment and supply network strategy.Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain operations including experience with : plant management, planning, sourcing, purchasing, and distribution. Food / beverage experience is preferred.Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering or equivalent experienceDemonstrated training and experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles and practices.Ability to engage with and lead the executive team on matters of supply chain strategy and execution.Demonstrated talent management experience with proven ability to attract, cultivate, and retain top performers in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment.Experience managing a team across levels to create a positive, human-focused culture.Ability and desire to work with a diverse group of team members, leading with equity and inclusion.Knowledge of enterprise resource planning tools, with proven experience developing and implementing business focused KPIs and metrics. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus.Stellar track record of achieving high business impact via process, organizational and infrastructure change in lean, fast-paced environments.Proven ability to frame a strategy, then dive in to drive and support hands-on execution through the business results.
