Job Summary :
The Chief Pilot is responsible to the Director of Operations for those activities which pertain to general supervision of the flight crewmembers for the purpose of maintaining a high level of proficiency, safety and standardization in flight operations and personnel management.

Functions / Responsibility :
- Supervision of flight crewmember as to their qualifications and compliance with rules and regulations of both the FAA and the Company. Ensuring that Company standards are met by all crew members.
- General supervision of flight crew members and their scheduled assignments.
- Assisting the Director of Operations in the development of new flight operations policies, practices and procedures.
- Assisting the Director of Operations in the selection of Instructors and Check Airman.
- May exercise operational control over company aircraft in the temporary absence of the Director of Operations.
- Assisting in oversight of the standardization of aircraft procedures between aircraft types.
- Implementation of new and approved flight operations policies, practices, and procedures.
- Assists the Director of Operations in projecting pilot staffing and pilot experience requirements for new hires and upgrade opportunities. This will include interviewing pilot applicants, upgrade requests and selection determinations.
- Is responsible for ensuring the currency of all flight crew records.
- Notifies the director of training when a pilot requires remedial training including a written description of the required area for review.
- Removes crewmembers from line status if they fail to meet company standards.
Requirements : Education :
Must have all qualifications listed in FAA 14 CFR §119.65 and be extremely knowledgeable of FAA part 121 regulations. Must hold a type rating in either a B727 or B737 aircraft. Candidates with previous Chief Pilot, management or extensive Check Airman experience will be given additional consideration. Must be on-site and willing to relocate.
