Editor

Job Responsibilities :

The Editor will work with other editors, operations / production staff, and various internal clients to proofread and perform quality-control checks on educational testing materials, ancillaries, reports, and business proposals. Assessment editors adhere strictly to various style manuals including Chicago, AP, and APA, as well as various state departments of education publishing requirements and client-specific style rules.

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 - 6 years of proofreading or quality-control experience in a professional environment
• Exceptional command of the English language, with proven listening, writing, and oral communication skills
• Superb attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and proofing requests under high-pressure daily deadlines
• Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
• Positive attitude and an excellent customer-service focus
• Proficient in Word and experience using “Track Changes”
• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe PDF is preferable
• Experience with desktop publishing software is a plus.
