OVERVIEW : The Master Marine Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of boats, and all marine components.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduation from Marine Technical School
- Certified by Mercury Marine as a Master Technician
- Certified in generator repairs, air conditioning, electronics and electrical repairs
- Familiar with the factory warranty process
- Successful completion of boat manufacturer's training
- Certification by proclamation by supervisors and approved by MarineMax
KEY TASKS :
Examine boat and effectively communicate the nature and extent of damage or malfunction with the service advisor or customer.Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine equipment transmissions / drives / generators.Perform mechanical repair work such as :remove engine, transom or outdrive
disassemble unit and inspect parts for wearoverhaul or replace carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systemsrewire electrical system, lights and instrument panelinstall and repair accessories such as radios, electronics, air conditioning, and generatorsOperate a hydraulic jack or hoist as needed.Advise customers and / or insurance adjusters as to necessary repairs.Complete repair work utilizing service scheduler and SSO's within the established timeframeEnsure all warranty work is completed according to manufacture's and MarineMax guidelinesSafely operate MarineMax and customer vessels during diagnostic water testing operationsMaintain MarineMax tools in good condition and according to guidelinesMaintain and keep current all certificationsOther duties as assignedKEY RESULT AREAS :
