Summary :

This position is responsible for the management and organization of the Manager in Training (MIT) program, oversight of the Task Force group, planning and implementation of the annual OAK University, and development and maintenance of the Operations Manual (OAK Trail Guide). This position will also develop and oversee the mentor program for the OAK department. The Project and Training Specialist is responsible for identifying and sourcing training and operational opportunities based on departmental needs and focus areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Manager in Training (MIT) Program :

Organize, manage, and track all aspects of the MIT program.

Ensure the smooth onboarding and continuous development of trainees.

Provide support and guidance to MIT participants.

Train General Managers to track and monitor growth of trainees.

Task Force Group :

Organize and track the results of the Task Force group.

Facilitate meetings and ensure productive collaboration.

Monitor progress and provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.

Assist with the scheduling of Task Force help as needed at the properties or with other departments.

OAK University :

Plan, organize, and facilitate the annual OAK University event.

Coordinate with speakers, trainers, and participants to ensure a successful event.

Evaluate event outcomes and implement improvements for future events.

Mentor Program :

Develop and implement a mentor program to support employee growth and development.

Pair mentors and mentees based on skills and career goals.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the program, adjusting as needed.

OAK Trail Guide :

Oversee the development of the OAK Trail Guide.

Ensure the document is updated regularly to reflect current best practices and organizational needs.

Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information.

Training Sourcing :

Identify and source training opportunities throughout the year based on departmental needs and focus areas.

Work with external vendors and internal subject matter experts to deliver relevant training programs.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.

Operational Efficiencies :

Create training materials and Standard Operating Procedures to support the implementation of identified improvements, ensuring that all team members adopt new practices.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, education, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in training program management or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, training software or learning management systems and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team both in person and remotely.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
