Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist needed. Must be willing to cross train for both positions. Full time or Part time. Bilingual a plus but not required. Experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Must be willing to travel between Carrollwood, Wiregrass and Brandon.

Completes the start of day processesUnlocks cabinets and doorsPowers up equipmentLogs on all work stations in exam room and work areaSets up medical supplies and equipment for the dayProperly room patientsTakes and records vitalsConfirms information required by provider is present (labs, hospital records, etc.)Updates IEHR (allergies, medications, history, etc.)Assists in following appointment schedulePrepares exam roomPrepares patient for examination or treatmentObtains informed consents and ABN as necessaryNotifies provider when patient is readyAssists provider during examination and with treatmentPerforms diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the providerAdministers injections and immunizations and records them in IEHRObtains consentsPrepares specimens and requisitions for lab courierPerforms testsEnters charges for services rendered by the medical assistantCleans and sterilizes instruments and medical equipmentProcesses medication requests per providerHandles medication refill requestsObtains prescription overrides and prior authorization when neededAddresses and handles all tasks, as well as monitoring provider’s tasksHandles patient calls :Returns messagesNotifies patients of test results and instructions from providerSchedules follow up appointmentsMakes follow up calls to check on patients post procedure as indicated by provider or office protocolTriages patient calls and needsDistributes, reviews, and teaches patient educationOrganizes and maintains sample and supply closetsAssists provider with completion of forms requested by patientsPrepares chartsAcquires all medical records necessary for visitMakes sure all ordered tests have been performed and results are presentConfirms authorization has been obtained if requiredReviews chart and drug inventory to ensure drug is availableCompletes the end of day processesMaintains medical equipment; ensures all equipment is calibrated, cleaned, sterilized and chargedCollects red bags as necessaryMonitors and replaces sharps containers when neededStocks exam roomsCleans and sanitizes exam roomsEmpties HIPAA container into destruction binLogs off of all work stations including exam roomsLocks all cabinetsAdditional Responsibilities :
