Job Summary
The responsibilities of this role include controlling flow of products and materials to and from manufacturing and production areas. You will ship, receive, label and properly store products and materials. You will Load and unload trucks. Operate industrial forklifts in a safe and professional manner. Transport supplies, tooling and equipment as required. Maintain high accuracy level on paperwork and electronic transactions / records. You will be responsible for raising any issues with your line manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PRODUCTION SUPPLY and WAREHOUSE
Ensure the smooth supply to the manufacturing or production areas with pallets, work in process product, packaging supplies and other miscellaneous materials
Ensure that you maintain a FIFO (First in, First out) system for supplying materials. Ensuring that stock rotation is a key focus.
Ware house product, unused materials, supplies and other items or equipment as reuqired
Ensure that you maintain acceptable conditions of warehoused items, orderly stock placement and ensure products remain damage free.
SHIPPING and RECEIVING
Pick, label and prepare product for shipment as assigned by your line manager
Ensure accuracy of prepared shipments and all customer requirements are met. You will raise any identified issues with your line manager.
Load product, materials, or equipment on freight carriers ensuring all are damage free prior to shipping
Unload inbound materials, equipment, and supplies ensuring all are damage free prior to acceptance. You will raise any issues with your line manager in the first instance.
UTILITY
Assembly and supply cardboard totes / boxes to the production area
Assemble and supply scrap totes to manufacturing areas. Collect and process scrap for trash or recycle as needed.
Load the scrap trailer
Remove trash from the production floor and empty Dumpsters in to the trash compactor as appropriate
Remove scrapped cardboard from production
Load and empty the cardboard compactor as needed and process scrap cardboard for recycling
MISCELLANEOUS
Complete necessary paperwork and electronic transaction whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy
Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager
Actively participate and comply with all West HSE programs and regulations
Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with the West 5s program

Work Experience

current or previous forklift experience preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have current or previous forklift experience
Must have good communication skills
Must have excellent attention to detail
License and Certifications
Travel Requirements
5% : Up to 13 business days per year
Physical Requirements
Medium-Exerting up to 50lb / 22kg of force occasionally and / or up to 20lbs / 9kg of force frequently, and / or up to 10lbs / 4kgs of force constantly to move objects.
