The Compensation Specialist supports and develops the administration, processes and controls associated with Horrocks’ compensation programs. Provides high-level strategic compensation advisement to management. Evaluates salary data, determines appropriate position pay grades and ranges, and conducts or participates in compensation surveys. This includes but is not limited to documentation and administration of base compensation, incentive plans, and salary review processes. Under general supervision, manages reporting and ensures data accuracy, and is a key contributor to creating a competitive and innovative total rewards program designed to attract, integrate and retain employee talent essential to achieving business objectives.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Conduct analyses on jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and incentives to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of internal pay practices. Works with company leadership to evaluate and market price new and existing roles within the business
- Assist in developing compensation policies and procedures
- Research and analyze compensation trends. Review market pay programs and practices and compares company pay practices and data against market information to determine competitiveness. Recommend and assist in the implementation of changes to compensation programs, policies, and procedures
- Supports Talent Acquisition team in determining compensation for job offers
- Supports annual merit pay programs, including configuration, reporting, system processing, and related analyses
- Deliver accurate and timely compensation reporting and serve as a consultant to business line leaders for core compensation and compensation systems as needed. Identify and resolve various compensation-related issues and questions
- Prepare analyses and recommendations on compensation related projects, such as incentive compensation, bonus plans, retention compensation
- Conduct annual reviews of all incentive plans yearly for accuracy and administration of these plans, makes necessary changes as needed
- Prepare and participate in salary surveys and market data reports
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies :
3-6 years compensation or HR experienceExperience with ADP and / or Vantage Point (Deltek) is preferredBachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or related fieldsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacyExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient Microsoft Office Suite or related software skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel software skillsProficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applicationsWhy would a candidate want this job?
