Where you will work :

The Augusta mill sits along the Savannah River, on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina and manufactures light, medium, and heavyweight coated paperboard. It is a well-invested SBS paperboard manufacturing facility with approximately 600 thousand tons of capacity. This facility boasts over 700 employees and has been in operation for almost 65 years. Located on 3,000 acres, the Augusta site operates two paper machines that produce 1,940 tons per day. The Augusta Mill is Clearwater Paper’s largest paperboard facility and is critical to the success of our strategy and future.

What you will do :

The Sr. Maintenance Planner will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties :

  • Partners with Operations Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor to ensure efficient planning and coordination of maintenance work.
  • Responsible for daily and annual outage maintenance planning in the area.
  • Communicates daily with hourly and salaried maintenance personnel.
  • Directs contractors and ensures compliance with safety and quality requirements.
  • Maintains planned work order backlog to ensure scope of work is greater than two weeks out and within regular work hours.
  • Create, maintains and modifies equipment BOM’s and area PM’s.
  • Ensures Contracted PM’s and Mill PMs are scheduled and recorded.
  • Ensures all PMs are presented to the MOPs team for scheduling.

What you will need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing operations, maintenance or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • High School diploma or GED, required.
  • 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of reliability concepts and applications
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Experience with utilization of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines on a continuous basis
  • Ability to estimate man-hours and costs for maintenance work.
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours.
  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.
  • Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.
  • Use of ladders and stairs in the mill environment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Exposure to airborne particles and times of increased heat and humidity.
  • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises
  • Participates in Maintenance weekend duty rotation along with being on call one night per week.
