Job Description :

Role - Data Visualization Developer

  • 80% Power BI Report Development - ability to source data from multiple sources, data modeling in PBI, DAX, complex logic, queries, building the visualizations, prototyping, data validation, demoing functionality, presentations, ability to train on Power BI
  • 20% Business Analysis - Lead discovery sessions, document needs, understand and document c urrent state data processes, perform data discovery, facilitate requirement gathering, provide data visualization recommendations and best practices

Responsibilities

  • Connect various data sources to PBI - data warehouses, spreadsheets, SharePoint, snowflake, etc
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing Power BI reports and other Power BI tools
  • Proactively propose specifications and solutions, while recommending best practices and planning on deployment
  • Develop data visualizations in PBI that communicate business performance, trends, and insights
  • Contribute and collaborative within and across IT teams in accomplishing assignments and prioritizing tasks effectively
  • Identify and document Power BI reporting needs and requirements, through interviewing and working closely in meetings with non-technical business users
  • Analyze and document current state processes and operations, evaluate, enhance existing reports and create new reports
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis related to operations, processes, and other business-related issues with Power BI
  • Influence and contribute to business conversations by using reports and analytics to promote data-driven decisions
  • Proactively train business users on using PBI, lead sessions to increase data maturity
  • Participate in agile scrum events - demos, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and break down work into user stories within Azure DevOps planning tool
  • Develop paginated reports using Power BI report builder tool.

    • Required Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience building and visualizing reports and dashboards in Power BI
  • Fluency writing DAX Measures and Calculated Columns
  • Experience in Data Preparation : Fluency using Power Query and writing SQL queries for data preparation
  • Demonstrated ability with Data Modeling : Relationships and DAX formulae across 15+ tables data models
  • Exceptional Data Visualization Skills : being able to quickly provide meaningful insights from data, tell a story, and apply best practices
  • Strong understanding of Power BI capabilities and uses (both Power BI Desktop and Service)
  • Experience using agile / scrum methodology to deliver value-added solutions
  • Strong leadership, partnership, and proactive verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate with all levels of the organization to design and deliver technical solutions to business problems

    • Preferred qualifications

  • Understanding of common data warehousing methodology and architecture (Star Schema)
  • Experience with SQL and writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience working at a CPG company
  • Experience with Power BI Report Builder
  • Experience with M Language for Power Query
  • Experience with Power BI Paginated Report Builder
  • Applied statistic skills, statistical methods, analysis techniques and general mathematics knowledgeability
  • Ability to influence without authority
