Research Librarian

Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 15 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking a Research Librarianfor our Pittsburgh , PA or Philadelphia, PA office.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Provides reference and research assistance firmwide; performs legal, business, public records, dockets, and news searches utilizing multiple database systems
• Creates and curates news, caselaw, legislative, regulatory, and docket tracking alerts for specific practice groups and individual attorneys as requested
• Sets alerts to monitor for newly filed complaints for business development and client servicing.
• Advises attorneys and paralegals on research strategies and resources
• Coordinates document delivery and interlibrary loan; obtains articles, technical papers, and other non-legal references as requested
• Maintains serials check-in records and files updates for print publications in the Pittsburgh office
• Performs other duties as assigned

iManage experience a plus

Education and Experience :

High school degree or equivalent required; college degree preferred

Minimum two years’ experience as a librarian, preferably in a law firm environment

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
