Job Description Summary

Employee responsible for sampling product to ensure the product meets required tests.In this role the technician would report to QC Supervisor of Recycled Aggregates. Main job responsibilities include performing geotechnical testing on soils, aggregates, and cement stabilized material, driving to, and collecting samples from sites and stockpile yards, and maintaining laboratory equipment and the company provided vehicle.

Requirements

  • Partners and coordinates daily / weekly scheduling with management, plant personnel and crewmembers, as well as Department of Transportation inspectors to obtain necessary samples and mix designs.
  • Perform a variety of geotechnical testing including, but not limited to :

Particle Size Analysis , Liquid Limit / Plastic Limit, Plasticity Index, Sulfate Content, Deleterious Content, Moisture-Density Relations, and Unconfined Compression Strength

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Recordign test data on approved labratory worksheets
  • Knowledge to ensure ethical behavior and safety standards as required by the company and OSHA guidelines.
  • Driving to stockpile yards to collect samples
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment and equipment
  • Attitude / Cooperation : Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public.
  • Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes
  • Obtain / or maintain technician certifications
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
  • Must pass drug test and criminal background check.
  • Education / Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to obtain state certifications as required
  • Preferred Certifications

  • SB101 Properties Specialist
  • SB201 Properties Specialist
