Job description

Job Overview

The incumbent repairs and coats surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material.

Work Model : Onsite

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions :

  • Prepares collision / damage repair estimates; determines replacement parts requirements; repairs, rebuilds and paints major body / frame assemblies; removes and installs parts for sub-assemblies; performs upholstery repair / replacement.
  • Requires strict adherence to OSHA and AFOSH safety standards.
  • Performs normal maintenance on shop equipment and maintains cleanliness of shop area as required.
  • Removes old paint from vehicle.
  • Paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle.
  • May paint insignia, letters, or numerals on vehicle surface, using stencils.
  • Maintains cleanliness of shop area as required.
  • Coats surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices.
  • Accountable for hand tools and shop equipment.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Job Requirements

Mandatory :

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • ASE Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Review Certification Program OR EPA section 609 certified equivalent program completion.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification / common access card.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Valid Alabama state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and / or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
