WORK HOURS : Monday-Friday Night Shift 4 : 00 PM - 12 : 00 PM (Overtime will likely be required during peak operations from February to May each year).
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Night Shift Supervisor directly supervises all night shift employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Inspects yearbook pages to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers.
- Enforces safety regulations, completes incident reports, and acts as liaison between Safety team and night shift.
- Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Maintains awareness of equipment or processes that are either in use or may be in development.
- Communicates and implements any changes in equipment or materials.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or shift.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Communicates with day shift supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Communicates with Plant Superintendent relating to all matters of production during night shift.
- Maintains plant security. Reports any violations or breeches of this security.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with desktop publishing computer programs such as PageMaker, Photoshop, etc using both PC and Mac platforms.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
