Position Overview :

We are seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with at least three years of experience to work alongside our partner in Cook County and handle traffic and criminal defense matters in Cook, DuPage, and Kane Counties. The ideal candidate will have courtroom experience, strong litigation skills, and a passion for defending clients in various criminal cases.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the partner in Cook County with case management and litigation strategy.
  • Independently handle a caseload of traffic and criminal defense matters in Cook, DuPage, and Kane Counties.
  • Represent clients in arraignments, hearings, plea negotiations, trials, and post-conviction proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Advise and counsel clients on case strategy, potential outcomes, and legal options.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear and timely communication.
  • Negotiate with prosecutors to seek reduced charges or favorable plea agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop defense strategies and explore creative legal solutions.

Qualifications :

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in criminal defense, with trial and courtroom experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Illinois criminal laws, traffic laws, and court procedures in Cook, DuPage, and Kane Counties.
  • Excellent litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
