Job Description :

MEI has a job opportunity to commission mission critical data center electrical equipment systems for a world class technology company. This commissioning role will assist in overseeing the commissioning process for power generation and distribution systems, uninterruptible power supplies, automatic transfer switches, PDU's and medium voltage switchgear. The candidate must have a working knowledge of electrical power systems or equivalent industry experience with strong communication skills. This role requires travel to either Phoenix, AZ, Austin, TX, Atlanta, GA, Reno, NV, or Las Vegas, NV.

This position will require a minimum of 65% travel.

Job Duties :

  • Develop, oversee, and write commissioning policies, scripts and procedures.
  • Validate equipment installations.
  • Perform construction observations and develop thorough test plans.
  • Execute tests for a wide variety of electrical systems and ensure testing is performed in conformance with standards and specifications.
  • Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
  • Review design documents and equipment submittals.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of electrical commissioning experience with a strong emphasis in data centers preferred.
  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred but will consider other engineering disciplines, two (2) year degree, military training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Passion for leading in moments of ambiguity, particularly in the realm of construction and electrical operational problems.
  • Top-notch organization in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office products is critical.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be motivated by deadlines, and possess the ability to multi-task
  • Working knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards.
  • Experience conducting quality control of electrical construction documents.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD. Bluebeam experience a plus.
