LOCATION - You may work on various project sites in the Midwest. Current project location is in Des Moines, Iowa. Per diem will be provided for those willing to travel and work onsite.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Superintendent to be responsible for project execution, safety, and quality throughout preconstruction, construction, and close-out activities. Vertical construction experience necessary and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers experience is a plus.
PRE-CONSTRUCTION
- Reviews plans and specifications (general familiarization).
- Conducts pre- construction / safety meeting with Project Manager
- Implements and manages the Four Point Quality Control Plan
- Conducts owner pre-construction meeting
- Initiates and coordinates mobilization of equipment and personnel
- Finalizes the schedule with Project Manager
CONSTRUCTION
Establishes and verifies quality control programEstablishes and maintains safety programConducts daily inspectionsMonitors daily task scheduleOversees subcontractor labor forceConducts weekly meetingsSchedules and coordinates inspections and testingIndoctrinates all new employees and visitors to the siteMaintains all required documentation and correspondence between client / main office / subcontractorMaintains all daily / weekly logs and inspection sheetsUploads daily / weekly logs and inspection sheets to electronic project fileMaintains meeting minutesExecutes and monitors project safety planCONSTRUCTION CLOSE-OUT
Schedules and coordinates punch list work.Coordinates the timely completion of as-builtsReviews and hand-delivers close-out documents to Project ManagerCloses all site files, notes, and documentationBoxes and labels site files, notes, and documentation by job number, contract name, field fileInitiates and coordinates demobilization of equipment and personnelWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma5+ years of relevant construction experienceProcedural knowledge of construction tradesCompleted OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 yearsAttendance at a professionally accredited QC management course (e.g. conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or Naval Facility Engineering Command, including a current certification within the last five years).Current First aid / CPR certificationIntermediate proficiency in ProCore, BlueBeam, Microsoft Word and ExcelIntermediate proficiency in oral and written communicationIntermediate proficiency in problem solvingFluent in the English languageAbility to pass a drug test and background check required to access US military installationsEqual Opportunity Employer / Veterans
