Mill Operator, $2 0 / hr - Detroit, MI (1st Shift)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Mill Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining milling machinery to produce high-quality materials while ensuring adherence to safety, production schedules, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Machine Operation : Operate and monitor milling equipment, including CNC and manual mills, to produce precise products in accordance with specifications.
- Set-Up & Calibration : Set up and calibrate the mill machines, ensuring they are correctly aligned, adjusted, and in optimal working condition for production.
- Quality Control : Inspect finished products for defects or irregularities and ensure they meet quality standards. Perform routine checks and measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on milling equipment to ensure continued machine performance and to prevent breakdowns.
- Safety Compliance : Adhere to all company safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the supervisor.
- Production Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
- Continuous Improvement : Suggest and implement improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety in the milling process.
- Collaboration : Work closely with other operators, supervisors, and team members to achieve production goals and resolve any operational issues.
Qualifications :
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or vocational training in machine operation is a plus.Experience : 2+ years of experience in a milling or machining environment, with a strong understanding of milling processes, machinery, and tools.Skills :Proficiency in operating CNC and manual milling machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.Strong knowledge of measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality control.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varying environmental conditions.Let’s go to work!
