As a Medical Assistant, you will play an essential role in the delivery of quality healthcare at PHC. In this role, you will be the shepherd of the care team, ensuring that the clinical day flows seamlessly for your patients and providers. Your day-to-day duties will include clinical care and administrative support as delegated by licensed clinical staff. What You Will Do
Documents patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record.Facilitates the patient rooming and intake process and obtains accurate patient vital signs per established workflow.Performs point-of-care testing per CLIA guidelines and other established workflows. Ensures service orders are completed timely.Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments per written or standing orders.Performs lab and diagnostic testing per written orders, explains testing procedure and preparation, and reports test results per procedure. Ensures test orders are completed timely.Completes timely prior authorizations and referrals per established guidelines.Answers and returns phone calls timely.Prepares for exam / procedure and assists provider as requested.Provides patient education appropriate to the patient’s age and identified learning needs.Collaborates with assigned Care Team by participating in team huddles and pre-visit planning for scheduled patients.Completes and accurately documents quality controls per established process.Performs pre-cleaning and transport of contaminated instruments per infection control policies and procedures.Routinely evaluates supply levels in exam rooms, removing expired supplies and restocking as appropriate.Qualifications You Need to Bring
High school diploma or equivalentCurrent Medical Assistant Certification or Registration issued by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHABasic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers CertificationMandatory Reporter CertificationMust be obtained within Introductory Period if not currentWe Take Care of Our People
Your experience and skills determine your base pay. The hiring range for this position is typically $17.00 - $21.25. Candidates with extensive related experience may be considered for additional compensation up to the pay range maximum of $25.50 per hour.
