We have partnered with our client, a leader in biotechnology, developing healthcare products, seeking a Purchasing & Procurement Specialist.

Summary

This role ensures raw & packaging materials and inter-factory / market supply are available on time and quality at best overall costs for seamless manufacturing; co-ordinates with suppliers of raw and packaging materials, inter-factory / market supply from respective factories, aligning with contract manufacturers for maintaining service levels while constantly seeking improvement possibilities.

  • You must understand the ERP & MRP systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamic Business Central a plus

Responsibilities :

  • Develop appropriate Purchasing / Procurement & Supply chain strategy to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest possible cost.
  • Responsible for evaluating and assessing raw inventory and "WIP" levels to assure operational efficiency while maintaining customer service levels.
  • Determining the required materials and possibly generating purchase orders.
  • Ensuring materials meet specifications, and quality standards, and are cost-efficient.
  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for production.
  • Coordinating with other departments regarding production goals, timelines, etc.
  • Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns.
  • Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.
  • Liaising with operations, manufacturing, and purchasing.
  • Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
  • Ensure a feasible production plan is established within the Laclede production period which takes into consideration available capacity labor available materials that respect the product family sequencing as determined by the MPS planner and best optimizes the factory's ability to produce the SKUs within the families.
  • Load planning : Plan and optimize mixed loads considering transportation constraints
  • Analyze and effectively communicate relevant information - Highlighting all supply issues - Detailing impacts of proposed actions and related tradeoffs.
  • Ensuring actions and Supply Plans are realistic and achievable under the Business Planning process
  • Work closely with the Warehouse / Shipping, Production & Manufacturing Team
  • Maintains a good relationship with all suppliers and constantly negotiates new rates and or lead time.
  • Understand the impact of lead time and the importance of maintaining stable costs.
  • Understanding the level of needed orders and maintaining the right amount of inventory on hand
  • Essential Functions Include :

  • Develop monthly reports and ongoing management
  • Lead payment terms projects with buying stuff
  • Lead inventory management for raw goods
  • Development of Procurement policies and processes to be rolled out across the organization
  • Manage the strategic sourcing process; implemented in 2025
  • Lead the development and execution of a technology plan for the department
  • Develop with legal support, contract templates
  • Build and manage centralized procurement files to ensure we maintain knowledge in the company
  • Identify and support specific procurement training by working with the human resources training team
  • Category and sourcing work as directed in the indirect services area
  • Work with stakeholders to RFP categories and negotiate deals as identified
  • Other reporting and responsibilities as defined
  • Qualifications Include :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
  • 10+ years of procurement experience
  • Experience in the technical and reporting aspects of procurement is highly beneficial
  • Strong skills in Excel, and PPT are essential.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
