JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Lead Machine Operator - Grapevine, TX

Salary : Full-time, $23.00 - $24.00 hourly

Reporting to : Plant / Production Manager

Hours of work : 7pm - 7am MUST BE ABLE TO TRAIN ON MORNING SHIFT 7am - 7pm

SUMMARY

The Lead Machine Operator is responsible for support of the operation of assigned department(s) and coordination of activities within his / her scope of control and setting priorities necessary to accomplish business goals. The Team Lead is a "Hands On" working lead role and may be asked to perform duties of an operator or forklift driver.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work to Health & Safety, Hygiene & Housekeeping procedures within the workplace
  • Responsible to ensure Quality Standards are met for all production on site
  • Support the Plant Manager in all aspects of machine production / shift efficiency
  • Perform and enforce the necessary disciplinary policies and procedures
  • Organize and direct manpower provided to operate the facility in an organized and efficient manner
  • Line changes completed within or less than maximum specified timelines
  • Ensure proper production set up and start up
  • Complete and ensure all reporting and paperwork systems are updated for production and human resource related documentation
  • complete all production paperwork before leaving the facility
  • Operate shift in a clean productive manner at all times
  • Material and regrind utilization in a cost effective timely manner
  • Provide support to project development, cost reduction projects and trials
  • Complete all maintenance tasks required
  • Ensure all equipment is in functional condition
  • Troubleshooting
  • Maintain the organization, supply and condition of tools and tool box
  • Keep all system information updated according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Liaison with customer as necessary
  • Attend team lead and production meetings where necessary
  • Provide vacation coverage for other shifts as required by the management
  • Perform any reasonable task specified by Management

COMPENTENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical experience is required
  • Must be able to read and understand written specification and instructions
  • Must be able to demonstrate "hands on" working approach with regards to mechanical principles
  • Be able to work well under pressure
  • Work with others and give directions as required
  • Perform routine tasks, while remaining alert and flexible
  • Problem solve and suggest alternatives as required
  • Work steadily and safely in a fast paced environment
  • Assist the team in all areas as needed
  • PYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, climb, stand, crawl, bend and walk on a varying basis throughout assigned work schedule
  • Ability to carry and / or lift up to 50 lbs.
