El Camino Real is a full service restaurant in search of an established Executive Chef to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent leadership skills, attention to detail and a genuine passion for cooking.
Our restaurant is high volume, fast paced and full of energy. Our tex-mex menu lends itself to a festive environment. We are open 7 days a week.
Chef Requirements :
4 years minimum experience leading a culinary program.
Must be able to work flexible hours and days.
Must exhibit top-notch teamwork.
Menu development and costing.
Personnel management skills for a large team.
Focus on exceeding guest expectations.
Job Duties :
Menu creation and updating with a focus on industry trends; weekly chef additions.
Hire, train, develop and appraise staff effectively.
Daily engagement with staff and ability to keep team on track.
Prepare menu guides and staff training tests.
Work with General Manager to ensure consistency of product, identifying potential issues and planning for upcoming events.
Attention to food and labor costs
Solidify working relationship with FOH to ensure common goals are exceeded
Sustain current high levels of sanitation, safety & food storage in compliance with City of Philadelphia Office of Food Protection
Improve & expand current level of output while maintaining quality
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to multitask; hands on working chef. Manage all levels / areas of the back of house and fill a role on the line or expo as needed.
Initiate relevant maintenance requests for repairs needed in the kitchen.
