CWS Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Neuro ICU for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma, Oklahoma. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Neuro ICU Discipline : RN Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel ONLY TRAVELERS ACCEPTED (50 Miles) Job Title : Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position General Description : Under general supervision, the Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care for patients with neurological conditions, ranging from acute and critical illness to complex neuro conditions. This is a travel position, requiring RNs to provide high-level care in a fast-paced Neuro ICU setting. Essential Responsibilities : The following responsibilities are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position : Assume responsibility for an assigned group of neuro-critical patients. Monitor neurological assessments, including intracranial pressure (ICP), Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), and neurological status to detect and prevent complications. Administer prescribed medication and treatments, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions, blood products, and specialized drugs. Assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures and treatment of complex neurological conditions. Provide direct care to patients undergoing life-saving neurological interventions, such as post-operative care following neurosurgeries, trauma, or stroke management. Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Communicate with patients and families regarding care plans and provide support for the emotional and psychological impact of critical neurological conditions. Respond to emergent situations, providing appropriate care for neurological emergencies. Educate patients and families about neurocritical care, recovery, and discharge planning. Required Skills & Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Neuro ICU or critical care environment. Strong knowledge of neurological assessments, including monitoring intracranial pressure and other neuro-specific protocols. Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple critical care patients and prioritizing tasks efficiently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with patients and families dealing with critical and complex conditions. Ability to maintain effective relationships with the healthcare team and adapt to different medical settings. Required Education : Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Preferred Education : Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from an accredited program. Required Certifications & Licensure : Current RN License issued by the state of Oklahoma or a valid multi-state compact RN License (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the AHA. NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred. Special Notes : ONLY travelers located 50 miles or more from the facility will be considered for this position.
