POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
Moss' Apprenticeship Coordinator will be responsible for playing a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating apprenticeship programs within the Moss organization. The coordinator’s primary responsibility is to work with management, superintendents, and apprentices to coordinate and schedule all aspects of the apprenticeship program. The Apprenticeship Coordinator / Instructor will develop and deliver instructional materials and assess apprentices, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and guidance to successfully complete their apprenticeships. Tracking of apprentice progress and program progress is key to this position. The position will be part of a construction environment and the Coordinator / Instructor will be expected to become familiar with all aspects of how Moss does business. The role requires extensive travel, approximately 60% of the time, to various locations around the country to deliver training programs and administer processes. This position requires high energy and strong interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Screen and interview candidates to determine their suitability for the program
Ensure completion and compliance of all enrollment, registration, and retention processes and documents
Provide direct apprentice support services
Ensure compliance of apprentice to journeyman ratios
Coordinate the orientation process for new apprentices, including paperwork and introductions to the organization. Also, conduct orientation sessions to familiarize apprentices with program expectations and requirements
Collaborate with trainers and mentors to plan and deliver training modules
Assess and evaluate the progress of apprentices, providing feedback and guidance as needed
Identify opportunities for additional skill development and recommend training resources
Provide feedback to apprentices and journeymen to facilitate continuous improvement
Administrative functions including administration of agreements and evaluations, training plans and examinations, progress reports and record keeping, and data entry
Handle administrative tasks related to program logistics, such as scheduling, travel, budgeting, and reporting
Assure dashboards are produced in a timely manner and with relevant data
Ensure compliance with apprenticeship regulations and standards
Prepare reports and documentation required by regulatory bodies
Utilize software such as Power BI or Digital Trackers to maintain the apprenticeship program information
Act as a liaison between apprentices, journeymen, supervisors, trainers, and management to facilitate and communicate progress and status of apprentices as well as address any concerns or issues
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, human resources, workforce development), or equivalent work experience
Minimum 2 Years of apprenticeship, workforce development, program coordination, training, or admissions or student affairs experience
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
Knowledge of utility scale solar industry and occupational standards and requirements for apprenticeships
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with apprentices, instructors, industry partners, and other stakeholders
Proficiency in instructional design and delivery, including the ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective training materials and lessons
Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to coordinate and schedule multiple programs and activities
Proficiency in using relevant software programs and tools, such as Microsoft Office and learning management systems
Ability to assess and evaluate the progress of apprentices, provide feedback, and offer guidance as needed
Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of different learners
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
