Job Summary

The QCC Yard Switcher, acting in the capacity of a professional driver, is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of product to and from Papa John’s restaurants / affiliates and for compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies while operating a commercial motor vehicle on behalf of PJ Food Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maneuver the vehicle safely at various speeds and / or in difficult situations including, but not limited to inclement weather and / or in areas of tight (limited) maneuvering.

Maintain all required records for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases and mileage trip reports and ensure all required shipment documentation (manifest, invoices, delivery invoices or shipping orders) are available for inspection.

Ensuring the timely movement of trailers in and out of the docks on-site at the QCC

Performing pre- and post-shift equipment safety inspections

Hooking / unhooking trailers

Lifting / opening trailer doors

Sliding trailer tandems when necessary

Safely entering / exiting yard tractor numerous times per shift

Safely maneuvering equipment with good backing skills

Comply with all federal, state, local regulations and laws (of the areas driven through) and company policies for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicle.

Trips to Penske for PM's or other related issues.

Local Back hauls

Miscellaneous trailer / tractor maintenance ( Stripcurtains , load locks ,etc. )

Yard organization

Attend all mandatory QCC Delivery Specialist meetings.
