Job overview :
Schneider is seeking a Senior Yard Coordinator in Charlotte, NC to provide customer service to truck drivers who enter the yard. The Senior Yard Coordinator will be responsible for the yard's overall flow by assisting drivers with maintenance needs, fueling and regulatory permits and repositioning equipment as needed.
Responsibilities :
- Organize the yard by moving tractors and trailers to maximize space.
- Control the in / out gate at the yard location.
- Manage the inventory of tractors and trailers in the yard.
- Direct drivers who enter the yard on where to park their equipment.
- Identify specialized freight that enters the yard and follow the established procedures.
- Enter data into an inventory database.
- Complete fuel-related duties.
- Oversee facility showers and issue shower keys to drivers.
- Assist drivers with storing and retrieving personal belongings when transferring equipment.
- Provide information to drivers regarding shipments and unit assignments.
- Complete yard checks to ensure proper security measures are in place.
