Pearland ISDPearland, TX, USPRIMARY PURPOSE :
Assist in the efficient operation of the Transportation Department and provide clerical services for the department staff.
QUALIFICATIONS : Education :
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with “P” and “S” endorsements
Special Knowledge / Skills :
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Maintain an acceptable driving record for school bus drivers as defined by Texas Department of Public Safety Must pass annual district physical and mental examination as required by Texas Department of Public Safety
Must pass a pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol screening as required by federal law
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting procedures
Ability to work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner Proficient typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills
Ability to use calculator (10-key by touch)
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases and do word processing
Experience :
Three years’ experience in accounts payable environment
One-year experience in public school transportation or job related area required Bus driving experience, preferred
