We are seeking an individual with flexible skills who can provide support in the following areas to help us meet our mission :
Duties :
- Must be detail-oriented and organized with all paperwork.
- Prepare platelet samples for shipping and BacT testing.
- Process normal BacT results.
- Perform and document all phases of batch release including reconciliation and quarantine of components.
- Assist in the preparation of all components, including special components.
- Perform basic laboratory computer functions.
- Organize, identify and label FFP and other blood components with complete accuracy.
- Convert and re-label salvage plasma products with complete accuracy.
- Assist with all aspects of shipping recovered plasma to commercial vendors.
- Verify and document all phases of the discard / destruction of unacceptable components.
- Perform and document all phases of quality control and maintenance to comply with internal and external agency specifications
- Reconcile all blood products daily.
- Complete any work remaining from previous shift.
- Assist in teaching student or student groups in routine production procedures.
- Adhere to MBS Exposure Control Plan; maintain work area in a safe and clean manner.
- Promote his / her continuing education as deemed necessary; gain / maintain competency in all required lab procedures.
Hours : Multiple Shifts- Monday-Friday rotating every other weekend.
