Dates of employment :

JOB PURPOSE :
Must currently be enrolled as an upper division student at Lewis & Clark Law School.
Student Success Fellows supplement the first year curriculum by offering an optional, one hour student success session every two weeks that puts into practice what students are learning in the classroom. These sessions are open to to all students enrolled in the assigned class. Student Success Fellows use these sessions to help students build confidence and identify areas of concern. During these sessions, Student Success Fellows should refer students to their professor's office hours or to staff as appropriate.
One of the most important duties of a Student Success Fellow is to act as a peer support for first-year students. This includes advising students about such topics as surviving the first year of law school, study strategies, outlining, studying for finals, and selecting courses for the second year. More generally, Student Success Fellows are a calming voice of experience, willing to show new students how to succeed in their doctrinal classes.
Student Success Fellows are encouraged to work closely with the Director of Equity, Inclusion, & Academic Resources as well as their assigned professors to create effective supplemental review sessions.
Student Success Fellows are encouraged to consider assigned class times for the course they are partnered with when designing their own class schedules.
