Description
The Opportunity
Ulteig is seeking a Lead Civil / Structural Engineer who acts as a fully competent engineer and performs work involving the application of engineering principles and practices to join our team. A successful candidate has experience managing projects or acting as a technical design lead. The candidate will provide Professional Engineering oversight and / or technical support to less experienced engineers and EITs in developing a solid team with complete responsibility for the design of bridge projects. Uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts, and practices to lead and complete complex project features for design, load ratings, and assessments of PS&E projects. Provides expert consultation for the design, development, and implementation of technical plans and systems. Develop client relationships and assist with business development. The candidate will also have the opportunity to perform the NBIS inspection and structural analysis of highway structures. Candidates must have experience working with the Departments of Transportation, County Governments, and / or Municipal Governments located in Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Texas and the surrounding area. General knowledge of the practices and policies of the governing agencies is also required. Qualified candidates can work from any Ulteig office location, but remote locations will be considered.
What You'll Do
- Manage or act as technical design lead on various bridge / structural related projects relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Acts as a technical leader and resource for other engineers applying advanced techniques, theories, procedures, and practices to complete engineering tasks
- Work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery
- Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports to see that these items are complete, accurate, and following sound engineering practice
- Provide recommendations for alterations to development and designs to improve quality
- Performs and / or checks detailed design work and load rating calculations
- Communicate with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs
- Participates in contract bidding and administration
- Develop client relationships and participate in marketing, sales, business development, and proposal development
- Is technically involved with the resolution of design problems including performing field investigations / observations
- Participate or lead team development / recruiting activities
- Participate in community and professional development activities
- May work in the office or in the field with up to 25% travel

Additional Opportunity Details :
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $ 102,900- 139,200
