Brasfield & GorrieAtlanta, GeorgiaResponsibilities Brasfield & Gorrie Senior Electrical Engineer – Strategic Sourcing Brasfield & Gorrie, a recognized leader in the construction industry, has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee Strategic Sourcing. This position plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our diverse range of projects across healthcare, multi-family, commercial, and industrial sectors. This position is at the forefront of innovating procurement processes, particularly in the design, approval, and fabrication of critical electrical components. By collaborating closely with project owners, architects, consulting engineers, and other key stakeholders, the Senior Electrical Procurement Manager ensures the timely release of primary electrical gear and critical components, streamlining project execution and enhancing efficiency. This role is crucial for those passionate about challenging traditional methodologies and contributing to groundbreaking solutions in electrical procurement and design-build efforts. Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned) : Engage with project teams across multiple industries early in the design phase to ensure the expeditious release of primary electrical gear and critical components. Challenge traditional processes related to the design, approval, and fabrication of critical electrical components. Interact with a broad range of stakeholders including project owners, architects, consulting engineers, the preconstruction team, construction operations, electrical subcontractors, vendors & distributors, and manufacturers. Develop innovative solutions and best practices for temporary electrical gear to minimize disruptions during the installation of permanent components. Expand efforts into emergency line-ups, generators, transfer switches, and critical mechanical equipment, complementing our design-build initiatives. Build and maintain robust relationships with vendors, manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic procurement plans that align with project requirements and organizational goals, focusing on accelerating equipment procurement while ensuring cost efficiency and owner satisfaction. Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Minimum of 8 years of experience in the electrical industry, including roles in contracting, manufacturing, supply, procurement, or preconstruction. Demonstrated ability to influence others and build strong relationships. In-depth knowledge of switchgear and generator procurement processes. Detailed understanding of electrical and mechanical building systems. Exceptional organizational and project management skills. Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
