Position Title : Special Education Teacher

Position Type : Full-Time, 8 hours per day

Caseload : 24 students (ages 14-17)

Types of Disabilities in the Classroom :

The students in this classroom experience a variety of disabilities, including Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Cognitive Impairments (CI).

Daily Duties and Responsibilities :

As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with individualized education needs throughout the school day. Your daily duties will vary, but may include :

Morning duty supervision

Following the daily schedule to provide in-class support to students

Offering guidance to general education teachers on accommodations, modifications, and testing supports

Leading and participating in IEP or parent meetings on certain days

Communicating with parents regarding students' grades, attendance, and progress

Developing and updating IEPs, as well as conducting informal progress monitoring

Collaborating with the team to ensure the best support for students

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications :

Special Education Teacher Certification or Sub Permit (state-specific)
