We have a great opportunity for you to join ACS in a Mechanical Engineer role in our Verona, WI or Troy, MI office.ACS specializes in engineering, integration and construction of technically complex R&D and production equipment, controls, and facilities. With a positive, collaborative company culture, we are proud to have been named a “Top Workplace” since 2019.The individual will fulfill the facilities mechanical engineering responsibilities for a variety of laboratory, process and industrial projects. The engineer will work closely with both internal (other engineers, designers, project managers, coordinators, and our manufacturing facility) and external team members (clients and suppliers).Essential job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following : Scope definition and concept design for mechanical / plumbing facilities and fabricated equipment fluid systems.Develop proposals, cost estimates and schedules for mechanical systems and commissioning.Perform constructability review - installation, phasing, space, utility requirements.Perform quality review - design criteria, maintenance, balance / control, diversity / capacity.Prequalify, solicit, analyze, and report on equipment quotations, contractor bids, proposals, and technical submissions.Periodic visits to the jobsite to oversee field contractor activities to ensure quality and schedule and for troubleshooting.Schedule and manage vendors and sub-contractors, including submittal review process and deliveries, while maintaining quality subcontractor and vendor relationships.Perform or coordinate onsite startup and validation of equipment.Repair / troubleshooting of equipment, controls, and facility and process systems.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, specifically for industrial projects.Experience in construction coordination is preferred.Excellent engineering skills including plumbing, thermodynamics and fluid systems, water, steam, gas, refrigeration and air courses.Excellent technical computer skills, using Autodesk Revit, and MS Office.Work to meet client deadlines including balancing multiple priorities and responding to changes in deadline, scope and design as they occur.Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a committed team member.Must have the following personal skills and characteristics : Problem solving skills, strong organizational and time management skills, willingness to accept responsibility, team player, takes initiative to improve personal skills, ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups.Ability to travel to customer facilities for design meetings, equipment installation supervision and commissioning.Along with an amazing company culture - ACS offers comprehensive health care benefits, a 401(k) employer match program, a hybrid work schedule, a bonus incentive program, paid time off and summer hours.ACS specializes in the engineering, integration and construction of technically complex R&D and production equipment, controls, and facilities.
