Overview
The Senior Underwriter administers the underwriting and servicing of new and renewal accounts for assigned middle market agents and producers in compliance with Company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards.
Those within 50 miles of an AmTrust office will be expected to abide by a hybrid schedule.
The salary range for this role is $100-140K, this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California and Washington. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
Responsibilities
Write and retain a profitable book of business through solid risk analysis, pricing, marketing, and servicing. Maintain compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines. Operate within written authority grant and make referrals to Middle Market and Home Office Underwriting as required.
- Collaborate closely with members of the Middle Market team. Communicate with the team on marketplace, technical, and relationship trends and knowledge.
- In collaboration with distribution partners, develop and implement a marketing and pipelining plan for key agents in the geographic area and share accountability in meeting financial goals.
- Coach agents on underwriting appetite and protocols in conjunction with corporate training guidelines.
- Actively participate in industry events as required such as, but not limited to, agency or association conventions.
- Provide professional, timely and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff to successfully write / retain business and handle inquiries from policyholders and agents.
- Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.
