Summary
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Recreation, the Recreation Program Manager oversees and manages the planning, development, organizing and scheduling of a variety of Town recreation programs, activities and community-based events facilitated at the Addison Athletic Club, Addison Circle Park and other Town Facilities. Analyzes staffing, operations and programmatic needs as well as preparing cost analysis to maximize their benefit to the community.
Essential Functions
- Manages the development, planning and execution of Recreation programs camps and community-based events at the Addison Athletic Club, Town Parks and other Town facilities to provide aquatic, fitness, senior, children and community programs to meet the needs of residents, the business community and visitors of the Town; ensures department, industry, Town, State and Federal standards and guidelines are met.
- Evaluates new and existing programs, activities and community-based events on current or future needs and trends.
- Directs and supervises Recreation Program staff to include prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring staff is trained and policies and procedures are being followed to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. Make hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations as necessary.
- Assists with the preparation and maintenance of program and community-based event budgets; ensures expenditures follow all financial policies and procedures; prepares reports as needed.
- Develop and facilitate sponsorship packages for community-based events to include monetary and in-kind donations.
- Develop, review and approve content for social media, websites, e-mail campaigns and program marketing materials; maintains department and program websites, digital media files and logos.
- Oversees the design of seasonal programming activity guide, brochures, flyers, pamphlets for distribution.
- Develops and presents reports to various audiences including Town leadership and they City Council.
- Helps supports operation of Addison Athletic Club through front desk operation support and staff oversight on an as needed basis.
- Responds to and resolves customer complaints, questions and suggestions related to Recreation programs, activities and services.
- Attends meetings, training courses and industry events as required.
- May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of supporting The Town's Special Events Department.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work is generally performed indoors in an air-conditioned facility but may also include limited exposure to outside weather conditions. Employee will need to be able to work in outdoor weather conditions for extended periods of time. Employee should be able to lift, at a minimum, 30 pounds at any given time. May occasionally be expected to attend evening meetings and weekend special events. Drives own vehicle in performance of job duties.
