Civil Engineer - Public Works
Role Description : Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer ( Eng IV ) with at least three (3) years of experience and will be a registered Professional Engineer for our Irvine, CA office. This role works collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works, hydrology / hydraulics, and utility projects.

Duties :
- Serve as Civil Engineer in the development of design schematics, construction plans, specifications and estimates.
- Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration.
- Support project proposals, scopes, budgets, and manage execution and tracking of projects.
- Complete projects within client specifications, budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate online meetings, preparation of meeting agendas, and distribution of meeting.
- Develops broad knowledge and skills in public works civil engineering, drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water quality (LID, WQMP, SWPPP, SMARTS) and utilities.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies applicable standard plans / manuals, techniques, procedures, and criteria for conventional projects with few complex features.
- Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of projects.
- Works on small projects or portions of larger projects.
- Performs moderate drainage design, hydrology and hydraulics analysis tasks.
- Performs moderate stormwater quality tasks.
- Prepares portions of project technical reports, plans, specifications and estimates.
- Assigns tasks to and coordinates work with entry- level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
- Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
- Assists with client, customer, or official contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.

Annual Base Salary Range : $132,000-$145,000 depending on experience and qualifications of the selected candidate(s). The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation is based on the success candidate's individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and consideration to participate in our discretionary annual bonus incentive program.
