A company is looking for a Public Benefit Specialist to assist uninsured and under-insured patients in determining their eligibility for state Medicaid benefits and financial assistance programs.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and coordinate application processes for uninsured / under-insured patients to determine eligibility for programsCommunicate effectively with patients to obtain necessary documentation for applicationsFollow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing and update insurance informationRequired Qualifications, Training, and Education1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with hospital financial issuesUnderstanding of Revenue Cycle processes including admissions, billing, payments, and denialsKnowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verificationHigh School Diploma or GED; relevant post-secondary education and experience may be consideredCertification in CRCR must be obtained within 9 months of hire (company paid)
