As an accountant you will have the opportunity to manage your day-to-day schedule to meet all of our company requirements. This role is for a confident, driven individual who will be comfortable working in a small team with our other skilled accountants. As an accountant with Southland you will enjoy digging into details, creating improvements, and fostering relationships with our dedicated staff. You are a structured, organized individual who is familiar with all aspects of the accounting process as well as being familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Your strong work ethic, integrity, and overall adaptability will make you an integral piece of our working community. General Responsibilities : Processing AP and GL Ledger Processing bank reconciliations. Record asset purchases and maintain depreciation schedules. Preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. Provide other timely reports on an as-needed basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites or related software. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work efficiently and independently without constant supervision. Ability to build and foster effective business relationships with others within the organization. Education and Experience : 2-3 years in business accounting experience preferred. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Accounting preferred. Knowledge of billing, cash application, accounts payable, and accounting procedures is required. Working knowledge of accounting and financial analysis software required. Physical Requirements : Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Frequent interaction with others to exchange information and resolve discrepancies. Ability to work extended hours as needed.
