The Secretary of State’s Elections Division is seeking a qualified applicant to work as a permanent, fulltime Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) in the Candidate Statements, Voter Information Guide (VIG), and Initiative and Referenda program areas. The Secretary of State will consider the Staff Services Analyst classification for purposes of recruitment. The department will also consider a Training and Development (T&D) assignment for purposes of recruitment. Candidates that complete a successful T&D assignment may be transitioned into the formal classification without the need to re-compete for the position.

Duties : Under the direction of a Staff Services Manager I, the analyst will coordinate state-level candidate statement submissions, assist with the state voter information guide mailings, serve as a backup on state initiatives and referenda, and assist with submissions of new political party qualifications.
Desirable Qualifications :
- Strong English grammar, spelling, proofing, and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to appropriately apply current laws, rules, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with excellent follow-through on tasks and assignments
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and recommend an effective course of action, perform completed staff work, and establish priorities for the completion in accordance with sound time-management methodology
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Aptitude for working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
