Location : In-Field : Farmersville, CA
Location Status : Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location based out of a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or other off-site locations will be required.

Summary :
The Bore Operator is responsible for safely operating various drilling equipment, including directional drills and excavation tools, to install and maintain telecommunication infrastructure. This role involves efficiently managing equipment such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers, and tractor trailers. The bore operator plays a crucial role in site maintenance and restoration, ensuring that disturbed areas are appropriately landscaped. Additionally, they are involved in developing and maintaining bore schedules, contributing to the overall project planning. Safety is a paramount concern, with the operator participating in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for new sites and establishing safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers. This role requires flexibility, as the operator may be called upon to work overtime, weekends, or on an on-call basis to meet project demands. The ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively within a team underscores the bore operator's adaptability and commitment to completing projects successfully.
This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Must have a valid Driver’s License subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's license with tanker endorsement preferred but not required
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) and medical card in good standing
- Must be experienced with drilling equipment and understand their capabilities and limitations
- Experience with drill set up and design processes
- Basic ability to use small tools / hand tools
- Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules and operating instructions
- Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
- A minimum of two years drill bore operating experience preferred
- Previous construction experience or utility construction experienced preferred
- Ability to travel to multiple work sites, work overtime, weekends, holidays, or off hours as needed
- The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication
- Proficiency in Spanish Language desirable

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary; you may not work full 8-hour days and there may be off days.
