Description
Monday-Thursday 10 hours Shifts
Position Summary :
Under the direction of the nursing support staff, responsible for delivering general patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all patients by following established standards and procedures. Assist with basic patient care and collaborates with other clinic staff to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achieving desired patient outcomes.
Essential Duties :
1. Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider and assist with procedures when necessary.
2. Assist clinical staff in taking and recording vital signs, gathering medical history information, and documenting patient information for medical records.
3. Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment / supplies that comply with quality of care.
4. Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly; dispose of contaminated items according to protocol.
5. Supports patient care by preparing laboratory specimens, disposing of contaminated supplies appropriately, preparing patients for x-rays, taking electrocardiograms, scheduling referrals / outside diagnostics / testing appointments, maintaining vaccine records, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
6. May schedule patients for diagnostic testing and follow-up to ensure completion of testing.
7.Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
8. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. High School diploma or GED required
2. Electronic Health Record experience preferred
3. Strong Computer skills are required
4. Good oral and written communication skills
5. Highly organized, attentive to detail, quality, and accuracy.
6. Ability to work under pressure
7. Team-oriented and energetic
8. Strong commitment to customer service and professionalism
