Position description
The University of California San Diego Computer Science and Engineering Department seeks applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (formal title Lecturer with Potential Security of Employment). Teaching Professors are full members of the academic senate and are eligible for Security of Employment, analogous to tenure.
The responsibilities of Teaching Professors are (1) teaching, (2) professional and / or scholarly achievement and activity, and (3) university and public service. The teaching load is two courses per quarter at the undergraduate and / or graduate level over three quarters of the academic year. The CSE course catalog is available .

Qualifications
Basic qualifications

Ph.D. in computer science and / or electrical or computer engineering and / or computing education and / or mathematics and / or bioinformatics or computational biology and / or computational social science. Applicants must have at least one course of teaching experience as a TA, lead instructor, or other comparable teaching experience.

Applicants should demonstrate scholarship in computer science, computer science education, or a related field through peer-reviewed publications or contributions to educational program development.
Preferred qualifications
Applicants who have engaged in activities or efforts to educate a broad and diverse group of students and worked to increase the participation and success of students from groups underrepresented in computer science are preferred.
