Description
Position Summary
Under the leadership of the WWSL Chief People Officer, the Recruiting and Onboarding Specialist works closely with leaders across the organization to understand the organizations staffing demands and works to effectively to attract and hire diverse, top talent, and support the onboarding process to retain the organizations most important asset, its people.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment - Ensures the staffing needs of the organization are met by developing near and long-term recruiting strategies. Effectively and efficiently performs all related activities of recruitment, including but not limited to posting openings, phone screens, and interviews, updates job descriptions and provide input into the selection of new hires for communities. Leverages social media to attract qualified applicants. Works effectively with leaders to guide hiring managers and candidates through the selection process. Manages completion of the hiring process.
- Community Outreach - Creates and establishes relationships with organizations, colleges, schools, churches, and members of the community to attract potential candidates and develop a future workforce. Coordinates and attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions. Collaborates with the Chief People Officer, leadership, employees, and community partners to develop recruiting strategies and create a diverse talent pool.
- Employment Process -Interviews prospects (either in person or by phone) and makes recommendations to department directors; coordinates Target Selection results in hiring process; checks references; coordinates employment process; schedules physicals and drug screens; Processes applicants and new hires for vacancies, benefits, badges, and related procedures. Collaborates with hiring managers and human resources to identify and create accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- On-Boarding - Provides excellent customer services to hiring managers, applicants and new hires. Ensures the onboarding process is welcoming, systematic and aligns with the organization's culture and values. Oversees the New Employee Orientation process. Serves as the primary contact for questions and concerns regarding onboarding and New Employee Orientation. Assumes responsibility for communicating updates and changes regarding onboarding and New Employee Orientation to hiring managers, administrators, and other New Employee Orientation stakeholders. Monitors items and supplies for New Employee Orientation, Provides support and assistance with administrative and transactional activities in support of the new hire onboarding process.
- Record keeping - Oversees human resources files and general correspondence to ensure information is organized, easily retrievable and compliant with applicable regulations. Maintains job files for each vacancy and coordinates required tracking of applicants for compliance with regulations.
- Data Reporting and Management - Gathers and generates reports such as time to hire, manpower reports and other data metrics needed to effectively measure success. Manage the CRM database for accuracy. Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
- Compliance - Ensures HR policies and actions adhere to labor laws. Maintains a consistent system for receiving, storing, and sharing information such as job applications, resumes, new hire paperwork is appropriately secured.
- Professional Development - Maintains professional growth by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of national trends and to promote leading edge performance and expertise within the organization.
- Assists - Performs related responsibilities as required.
